The Mercedes-AMG GT is a 4-door coupe with a supercar like performance. Truly, to witness its performance figures, we need to test it on a track. Thankfully, Motorsport Magazine chose a clear runway at the Essaouira-Mogador airport in Morocco for the range-topping Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S to test it. The final figures were astonishing and impressive for a two-ton (4,409 pounds), four-seat coupe.
Before we talk about how fast it hit the 300 kph mark, we need to tell you that it recently became the fastest four-seater at the Nurburgring.
During the performance test, the car hit the 100 kph in just 3.39 seconds. It reached 200 kph in 11.25 seconds while the 250 kph sprint was completed in 19 seconds. This is surely a supercar like performance but those who look to see it go faster have to wait for a little time, as Mercedes is readying a more powerful variant.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S is not a cheap car, starting at $159,000. However, due to its practicality to seat 4 people in E-class level of luxury and high-performance figures, the steep price starts to make sense.
Mercedes-AMG has also made public their plans to develop the 2018 GT concept’s powertrain. The automaker will use a 4.0L twin-turbo V8, which will get help from a rear electric motor. The combined output will stand over 800 hp.
