The leading technology and tires company Continental is consistently working toward achieving its ‘zero accidents’ vision. It recently reached another milestone along the path. The company’s intelligent vehicle door system was acknowledged by Consumer Technology Association as a Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 Innovation Award honoree in the segment of Vehicle Intelligence and Self-Driving Technology. This occurred at the CES Unveiled event in New York, where attendees received a preview of the anticipated technology devices and trends.

Continental is committed to developing better safety technologies for passengers’ safety and convenience. The intelligent vehicle door brake system employs Passive Start and Entry tech to unlock and start the vehicle without requiring a key, while the intelligent obstacle detection system keeps fingers, clothing, or other items from getting pinched between vehicle doors with its anti-pinch technology.

The obstacle detection system also avoids dents or scratches forming on the car’s exterior body and supplies increased road safety. The autonomous door system prevents uncontrolled slamming, even if the car is in an inclined position. This system would work great in self-driving vehicles allowing them to open and close doors automatically.

To know more about the Continental’s intelligent vehicle door system and other technologies, stay tuned as we cover CES 2019 in Las Vegas from 8th to 11th January.
