Al Futtaim Lexus recently added the new 2019 Lexus UX200 to its line-up in the UAE. Revealed at the Dubai International Financial Center, the event also featured a light and car dance show to emphasize the compact SUV’s character.
Defined by its name as an urbanized version of the X series SUVs, Lexus conceived this luxury compact vehicle to bring about a smooth and immersive driving experience. According to the Executive Vice President of Lexus, Ms. Chika Kako who is also the Chief Engineer and designer of the UX, the compact SUV was created keeping in mind modern customers who value both, style and functionality.
With a lower center of gravity, the vehicle is driven by a high-efficiency 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine with a newly developed 10-speed Direct-Shift Continuously Variable Transmission (D-CVT). The engine is capable of producing 169 horsepower and 205 Newton meter torque.
In addition, the SUV is equipped with a five-mode Drive Select Controller and one-of-a-kind aero ventilation which allows decreased air turbulence over the surface of the wheel. The signature spindle grille on the Lexus UX200 is redesigned to give off a 3-D effect, and the front of the vehicle has LED running day-time lights in addition to Lexus’s characteristic L-shaped lights, while the rear lights span the entire width of the car and consist of 120 LED lights.
Along with all these features, the luxury compact SUV also has several safety mechanisms including 8 SRS airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Panoramic View Monitor (PVM), Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), Parking Support Alert (PKSA), Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA), Active Cornering Assist (ACA), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), and many more.
The 2019 Lexus UX200 is accessible in three grades namely UX 200 Premier, UX 200 F Sport Prestige and UX 200 F Sport Platinum sporting price tags of AED 150,000, AED 160,000, and AED 180,000 respectively (prices are inclusive of VAT).
