The Ripe Market, which will now permanently take place at the new purpose-built Park in Dubai Police Academy on Umm Suqeim Street, had a special guest at its opening event, the Chevrolet Bolt EV. The weekly event gives more than 100 small and medium-sized businesses a platform to display and sell their products. The car was there to give visitors a chance to explore the Chevy’s best electric car.
Visitors to the Bolt EV’s part of the Ripe Market got Chevrolet treats in order to promote sustainable lifestyles. According to the Chief Marketing Officer of GM Middle East, Molly Peck, who was also present at the Ripe Market, the event was a good way to promote Chevrolet’s first-ever electric car to a portion of the public who are already interested in lowering their carbon footprints in everyday life. This is the reason the Chevrolet Bolt EV will be present at the Ripe Market until the end of March.
Talking about the alliance, Becky Balderstone, Ripe Founder said “The Ripe Market is all about supporting local through eating local and shopping local. Our market members thrive from partners like Chevrolet Bolt EV, as it supports raising further awareness around their products and brands and facilitates their growth in the market. And the fact that the Bolt EV is a vehicle that supports the sustainability agenda of the UAE, aligns even further with what the Ripe Market stands for. We hope that this collaboration is the start of a long-term partnership.”
Those looking to see the Bolt EV should visit Ripe Market on December 14th and 15th 2018, January 18th and 19th, February 15th and 16th, March 15th, 16th, 29th and 30th, 2019 at Dubai Police Academy Park, Umm Suqeim, Dubai and in Abu Dhabi’s Umm Al Emarat Park on January 12th, February 2nd, March 9th and April 6th.
