The German automaker has updated the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE wearing a price tag of $54,695. Although the starting price is $2,000 lower than the outgoing model, buyers must be aware that the new base model comes with a 4-cylinder engine powering the rear wheels. The ongoing base model has a V6 powering all the wheels.
However, this does not take away anything from the 2019 base model. It has a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 good for 255 horsepower powering the rear wheels. Those looking for an all-wheel-drive have to shell out extra $2,500 for GLE350 4Matic.
The power-hungry buyers can get GLE450 4Matic for $62,145. It houses a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 assisted by a mild-hybrid system to create 362 horsepower. The standard features include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and another 12.3-inch touchscreen display for the infotainment. In addition, the base model offers Navigation, LED headlights, park assist, and numerous additional electronic driver aids.
The 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE has a plenty of models in its line to meet the demands of varied customers. A plug-in hybrid and a number of AMG models will be available for environment-friendly and performance-focused buyers respectively.
The new GLE will hit showrooms sometime in spring next year. We are not sure when it will be available in the UAE. The current model sells at AED 257,150.
