When McLaren tested demand for the track-only Senna GTR, they had no idea it will be sold in a very short time. The good news for awaiting buyers is the £1.1 million track car is near production as the automaker has started dynamic testing. Maclaren has already started development of the road-legal Senna at the McLaren Production Center in Woking, Surrey, UK, which will follow the production of the track car. The automaker will only develop 75 units with deliveries beginning in September 2019.

The British automaker is using prototypes of customized Senna in testing. The Senna GTR will look similar to the sketch you are seeing above sporting a chassis with wider track front and rear and center-lock wheels. To enhance the aerodynamics, the car will have a bigger front splitter and rear diffuser and repositioned active rear wing. The automaker will use a sturdy carbon fiber McLaren Monocage to reduce weight.

Although we do not know about the exact weight of the McLaren Senna GTR, it will surely be less than the road-going car. The GTR will use the same 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine as available in the road-legal car but will generate 25 more PS (825PS) and 800Nm of torque.

The active aerodynamic enables the car to create 1,000 kg of downforce. The double wishbone suspension is taken from the GT3. The McLaren Senna GTR sports Pirelli slick race tires to deliver 20% more deceleration and enhance the performance and the braking system.
