When it comes to picking their favorite car color online, the GCC consumers think from the heart. However, at the time of purchasing, they make a different choice. This is revealed by SEMrush, the famous online digital marketing suite. The tool analyzed and found out that GCC customer’s favorite car color is ‘Red’ but when they go buying a car they choose ‘White’.
If we talk about particular numbers for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in the last 12 months, SEMrush found people searched red color 70% and 35% respectively. Other most searched colors include black, blue, white and silver (in the ascending order of searches).
We also learned through automotive data website carsalesbase.com that the automakers sell around 1 million new vehicles in the GCC markets every year with most sales coming from KSA and UAE. According to Axalta’s Global Automotive Color Popularity Report, 39% buyers, last year picked ‘white’ color while buying.
“While analyzing such search trends using digital marketing tools, GCC marketers can identify the car colors that would be most effective in advertising. Colors used in car promotions are selected for the attraction factor, even if many customers end up choosing other colors for their vehicles due to practicality or availability,” stated Adam Zeidan, SEMrush Corporate Communications Manager for MENA Region.
Talking about most favorite car colors by people in the GCC, below is a chart that tells a lot about their personalities:
Red: Speed and Excitement
Black: Mystery and Status
Blue: Stability and Serenity
Yellow: Positivity and Joy
White: Freshness and Practicality
Silver: Innovation and Technology
If we combine all these colors in two groups, we can knot red, black, and yellow for enthusiasm and mystery, while silver, white and blue emanate steadiness and soberness. We also wrote a detailed article about this topic, check it out here.
“Considering the majority of the GCC population is under 30, using the online color search data allows regional marketers to select the communication color they intend to use in promotions to attract customer attention, often very different from the colors we see for the majority of cars on the road today,” added Zeidan.
