The Korean automaker has finally named its upcoming three-row SUV, the Palisade. After offering us a few teasers, Hyundai has finally shown us the face of their new flagship.
The Palisade translates to “a series of coastal cliffs” and this specific model honors the Pacific Palisade island in California.
Based on the Kia Telluride platform, the utility vehicle can accommodate 8 passengers. We saw the Telluride at the New York Fashion Week and believe the new flagship will adopt the platform without any change. The SUV will sport a big Hyundai signature grille and an identical outline to the undersized Santa Fe.
Hyundai might be offering both front-wheel (standard) and all-wheel drive options. Reportedly, the Palisade will offer a couple of engine options including a 3.3L V6 good for 290 hp and a hybrid 3.5L V6 generating 400 hp. However, the latter option might not be available at the start.
Hyundai is planning to introduce the Palisade at the 2018 L.A Auto Show on November 28. We expect to see it in the US in mid of 2019. We do not know yet if Hyundai has any plans to unveil it for the Middle East. Pricing details are still unknown.
