Volvo Certified Vehicle Program for pre-owned cars gets more attractive with an unlimited mileage warranty, the automaker announced recently. The unlimited here does not mean a lifetime warranty. It is rather a customized warranty program where buyers can enhance their warranty coverage for up to eight years.
To become a part of the Volvo Certified Vehicle Program, a vehicle must have less than 80,000 miles on the odometer and it should not be more than five years old. Volvo mechanics analyze over 170 points as well as perform vehicle history screening. Volvo also uses CarFax vehicle history report in the process.
Volvo is using this program to enhance their customer base in the U.S. Rick Bryant, vice president of sales operations for Volvo USA, told media that 60% customers of this program are new to Volvo. The company wants these customers to stay with the brand and their plan is working. Last month, the company witnessed a growth of 24%.
The Volvo Certified Vehicle program will also make it easy for the brand to improve its vehicle subscription service for secondhand cars. There is no official announcement yet but we expect it to be similar to Care by Volvo.
The Care by Volvo program offers new cars for 2 years to buyers. The buyers can change the vehicle after 1 year but it will renew the 2 years subscription period.
