The Toyota TRD family is going to get bigger with the addition of the Camry TRD and Avalon TRD, the automaker confirmed last Thursday. The auto brand announced on their official Twitter account that the additions to the Toyota TRD family will unveil at the 2018 Los Angeles auto show. Toyota will also add TRD trucks along with these models.
The single teaser image released by Toyota shows the Camry TRD in front of the Avalon TRD. The former has a front splitter, black TRD wheels, and red brake calipers. The Avalon TRD has a comparable splitter but we cannot see anything else because the Camry conceals the rest of the details.
We expect Toyota will change other exterior elements of both the models. However, we believe the powertrains will remain the same. Talking about the breaks and suspension, we expect them enhanced to offer better handling. We also expect both these models will sport TRD badges to distinguish them from their traditional siblings.
The Japanese automaker has been working to change its sober passenger car image for a long time with the Toyota 86. With the return of the Supra, things might spice up a bit.
