Tesla has raised the price of its Model 3 Mid Range variant by $1,000 mentioning it as a little adjustment to the newly added mid-range battery pack. Additionally, Tesla removed the full self-driving option for this model from the online configurator. The electric car will now sell at $46,000, however, the customers who have already ordered may not have to pay it abruptly.
The Model 3 Mid Range comes with a single motor and rear-wheel drive option. The new battery pack gives it a 260 miles range, which is 50 miles less than the Long Range model selling at $54,000. Those who want to avail the $7,500 federal tax credit, have to pay full before the end of this year because Tesla’s federal incentive will soon be over upon reaching the 200,000-car cap.
As far as the full self-driving option is concerned, Elon Musk says it is ‘off menu’ for a week and has been eliminated from the site to simplify the buying process. The mid-range model will definitely have all the necessary hardware for a fully autonomous drive.
