Jeremy Clarkson, the famous motoring author of The Sunday Times and host of Amazon’s The Grand Tour chose the Lamborghini Huracán Performante as his 2018 Car of the Year. The award delivering ceremony was organized at News Corp’s London headquarters where Jeremy handed over the award to Lamborghini’s Board Director for Research and Development, Maurizio Reggiani. During the event,
The Sunday Times and The Sun newspapers offered their introductory motoring awards as well.
Expressing his views about the Huracan Performante, Jeremy Clarkson stated: ‘‘This is about the car that appealed more than anything. You get into it and you don’t know what it is that’s tingling the back of your head, but you think ‘this thing’s good’. There’s something about it: it’s not the speed, and it’s not the looks. There’s only really been one car in the last twelve months where I’ve had that feeling, and that’s the Lamborghini Huracán Performante.’’
The Lamborghini Huracán Performante and the open-top Spyder version boast the best aerodynamics and aero vectoring technologies from the automaker. These techs enable the supercar to make best circuit times while maximizing the driving comfort. The coupe version houses a V10 naturally-aspirated engine which is powerful enough to reach 100 km/h in only 2.9 seconds. The car can go as fast as 325 km/h.
