On the first day of Gitex Technology Week exhibition, Dubai Police unveiled a driverless police station vehicle, which will go to the customer and register their complaints. They also introduced Artificial Intelligence patrol and autonomous drones, which will shape up Dubai’s future security.
As the name suggests, the driverless police station vehicle has a Smart Police Station (SPS), which will be using the Dubai Police’s mobile application to perform different tasks.
The director of the AI department, Brigadier Khalid Nasser, said the project is in the pilot phase right now and will be accessible for both residents and tourists once we introduce it. Further details reveal the autonomous vehicle will render 16 smart services, which will allow drivers to pay traffic fines, get good conduct certificate and record a criminal complaint.
Dubai police stated they have used the latest technologies in this driverless vehicle. The vehicle will get its power either through the electric or solar source. Furthermore, it will have a wireless recharging system. The customers can enter the vehicle with face recognition or by providing their Emirates ID.
On the other hand, the patrol drone was introduced which will work throughout the city to quickly respond to any occurring emergencies. The drones will cover areas of the city that lack CCTV coverage and will be linked to the security network. The drones will be able to fly within 19 seconds to the area of emergency
We do not know when the project will launch but we do know the authorities will launch 19 drones in the start.
