The new Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, limited to just 900 units, will hit the roads at the start of 2019. There will also be an SVJ 63 edition to celebrate the Lamborghini’s founding year of 1963, limited to just 63 units featuring distinct configuration and materials. The sports car has also recently claimed Nürburgring-Nordschleife production car record by finishing the 20.6 km lap in only 6:44.97 minutes.
“The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is an innovative car and represents the absolute pinnacle of our super sports car product range,” said Automobili Lamborghini Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Stefano Domenicali. “The challenge to Lamborghini designers and engineers was to improve the purest essence of the Lamborghini super sports car, drawing on every inspiration from a spaceship to a jet fighter: all the most exceptional examples of super-fast, super-athletic, aerodynamic superiority. The Aventador SVJ takes another step into the future, shaping the potential for super sports car development.”
The Aventador SVJ’s Nürburgring-Nordschleife lap record wasn’t an easy feat. Bear in mind, it is the most powerful series production V12-engined car created so far by the automaker. The V12 engine pumps out 770 hp (566 kW) at 8,500 rpm and 720 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. This whopping power enables the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ to hit 100 km/h in only 2.8 seconds on its way to the top speed of over 350 km/h. The super car can hit 200 km/h in just 8.6.
On the outside, we find the car is wider featuring a new front bumper with unified side fins and the Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA), which is Lamborghini’s patented active aerodynamics technologies.
Lamborghini offers three driving modes namely Strada, Sport, and Corsa, in addition to the EGO option, which lets the driver to further personalize his choices. The Navigation System and Infotainment System are compatible with AppleCarPlay. The Lamborghini telemetry system comes as an option allowing drivers to record lap times and track performance as well as trip data.
