The British automotive brand Aston Martin has teamed up with the largest auction house RM Sotheby to make investment ready vehicles. Under the new partnership, they sold a 1963 Aston Martin DP215 Grand Touring Competition Prototype at the 2018 Monterey Car Week in Pebbles Beach, California for $21,455,000.
The DP215 is a special car previously driven by Lucien Bianchi and Phil Hill at the Le Mans in 1963. RM Sotheby was founded in 2015 when two separate companies RM and Sotheby decided to get together to make an auction company capable of catering to the needs of worldwide collectors.
RM-Sotheby ranks number 1 auction house for selling the most number of cars priced at more than $1 million. This is the reason Aston Martin chose RM Sotheby as their partners. From 2019, RM-Sotheby will hold a special single marque sale for Aston Martin, which will display their products to collectors.
