BMW is using a blend of materials to reduce weight while increasing the strength in the frame of the 8 Series Coupe. All known materials ever used in vehicle production, come together in the luxury sports car, including plastic, steel, aluminum and carbon fiber. Aluminum is used in the roof, bonnet, and the firewall at the front. The roof is also available in Carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP).
The use of tugger trains and robots have revolutionized the way BMW conducts operations at their factories, while the use of ProGlove smart glove scanner and Virtual reality VR glasses have proved to make work easier for the staff.
The BMW 8 Series Coupe comes with a choice of two engines. The more powerful V8 engine which is also found in the M850i xDrive Coupé and the 4.4-liter eight-cylinder engine which makes impressive 530 hp and 750 Nm of torque.
The BMW 8 Series Coupe will go on sale in November 2018.
