Nissan and Italdesign have teamed up to commemorate their 50th individual anniversaries with the Italdesign Nissan GTR50. The Italdesign GT-R will only have one example and it not only runs fast but looks impressive.
Fans can relax though as this is not the next generation R36 GT-R promised by Nissan. The upcoming GT-R is termed by the design chief Alfonso Abaisa as a car without boundaries. “Although this is not the next-generation GT-R, it is an exciting celebration of two anniversaries in a provocative and creative way—wrapping one of Nissan’s best engineering platforms and Japanese design with Italian coachbuilding,” he said in a statement.
However, Nissan is not going to cut the future GT-R out of the picture completely. There might be some design highlights taken from the anniversary car since the Italdesign GTR50 takes some highlights from the Nissan Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo itself.
According to reports, it was the design team of Nissan that suggested the sharp lines of the special edition GT-R and then Italdesign shaped that into reality quite effortlessly. The front fascia of the car has some gold color elements. The same theme has been adopted on the rear. Inside the car is black with carbon pattern finishing.
Underneath the hood, a 3.8-liter dual turbo V6 makes immense power taking the output to 710 horsepower and 575-pound-feet torque from 600 hp and 481 lb-ft torque.
The Italdesign Nissan GTR50 will make its debut this month in an event in Europe.
