After a short-lived teaser campaign, Dodge finally revealed the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye yesterday. Earlier a teaser video was released showcasing a Challenger beaming through the desert with a trailing supercharger whine. At the end of the video, a possible release date was unveiled in the form of a code word, RED797_62818. As predicted, 6-28-18 was actually the date of its release. And yes, the 797 stands for the car’s horsepower.
The Hellcat Redeye musters 797hp and 707 lb-ft of torque with the help of the supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 and a unique TorqueFlite 8HP90 8-speed automatic gearbox. That’s some serious horsepower bordering the capabilities of the SRT Demon. The Redeye manages naught to 60 acceleration in 3.4 seconds ongoing to a top speed of 203 mph and a drag strip completion time of 10.8 seconds right off the bat. Not only that, Dodge will also revive the ordinary Hellcat for 2019 by boosting its power to 717 horsepower. The standard Hellcat also dons dual nostrils on its hood.
The Hellcat and Challenger Scat Pack also gets its share of upgrades with the inclusion of last year’s wide body kit, and 20 x 11-inch aluminum ‘Devil’s Rims’ that come clothed with Pirelli P-Zero 305/35ZR20 tires. Last year’s Hellcat’s aluminum hood also makes its way through along with features like launch control, launch assist, line lock, and SRT drive modes.
Furthermore, the Challenger GT and R/T trims get a Super Track Pack. This pack includes new brakes and suspension. The Performance Plus Package adds 20-by-9.5-inch rims, Pirelli P-Zero tires and a limited-slip differential to the mix.
The 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye will go on sale in the last quarter of 2018.
