Almost all vehicle manufacturers have a performance division that ameliorates their vehicles inside and out. Hyundai has the N division and this time instead of just enhancing a Hyundai car, the performance division is going for its very own N division sports car.
The Division’s chief, Albert Biermann, who also has the accolade of being the head of BMW’s M division, nodded in the affirmative but didn’t really say it is going to happen. The Korean brand’s performance division is brewing something up and it should be exciting considering the high acceptance of the Veloster N and i30N.
“We are still working on these cars, trying different things. Maybe someday we will have such a car. There is no decision yet, but it could happen,” he said. A sports car based on Veloster Midship concept could be a possibility for production. The mid-engine Veloster hatchback concept houses a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that makes 300hp.
Biermann believes the buyers should first be accustomed to the performance vehicles available in the market. He does not want to flood the market with the vehicles, so this standalone N division sports car would have to wait before it sees the daylight.
