Cadillac has decided to rekindle its approach toward the Middle East market by introducing its first-ever bi-turbo V8 engine. The Cadillac 4.2L Twin-turbo V8 engine will accompany the freshly released CT6 V-Sport in 2019. The CT6 is part of Cadillac’s new approach to creating luxury sports cars.

Talking about the engine, the sports sedan purges out 550 hp and 627 pound-feet of torque while being teamed with a 10-speed gearbox. These are commendable figures, given they come from a low displacement engine. For those who would like things to be a bit calmer, Cadillac will offer a 500 hp version, which is oddly just 50hp less.

Cadillac’s new twin-turbo V8 engine has been built from scratch. Modern standards such as fuel efficiency, compact size, and supreme performance have been kept in mind while designing this engine. Cadillac’s Middle East Managing Director Christian Soemmer says:

“With the new and exclusive 4.2L Twin Turbo V-8, we present to our Middle East customers a new, higher level driving experience, one that’s even more exhilarating than what they usually expect to get from Cadillac.” “Since the launch of our first V-series model in the region, we have received great feedback from our customers, confirming their interest in high-performance cars and felt their enthusiasm for a high-adrenaline driving experience which embodies Cadillac performance on and off the racetrack.”

The Cadillac 4.2L twin-turbo V8 engine has a unique setup. It has a ‘hot V’ design in the center that differs from a conventional inline cylinder combustion engine. The new setup allows the two turbochargers to be placed on top of the engine significantly diminishing the turbo lag. The engine is made from a combination of high-grade aluminum and steel for long lasting strength and performance.
