The race to become the most supreme pickup truck is on and Chevrolet is up for the challenge. Recently, the company announced a lengthy list of variants for the refreshed 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. It seems the Silverado is being prepared to lock horns with its fierce contenders, the Ford F-150 and the Ram 1500.

There are two turbocharged variants that are a part of the 6-variant long list. The turbocharged version will be available with either a 2.7-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine (310 hp, 348 lb-ft) or a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder diesel powered engine. The diesel turbocharged engine shall be available in the first quarter of 2019. It will sure to be popular among buyers who are looking for that extra punch in their pickup truck.

Other options include the old 4.3-liter V-6 (285 horsepower, 305 lb-feet of torque) as well as the 5.3-liter (355 hp, 383 lb-ft) and 6.2-liter (420 hp, 460 lb-ft) V-8s that powered previous Silverado generation trucks. The 5.3-liter V-8 has a special distinction among other engines in the lineup since it is offered with the old Active Fuel Management (AFM) technology along with the new Dynamic Fuel Management (DFM) technology. While AFM deactivates 4 cylinders to save fuel, DFM allows the truck to choose any number of cylinders to run from 1 to 8.

Furthermore, there are 3 types of transmissions on offer in the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, depending on the engine power. The options include a 6-speed, an 8-speed, and a 10-speed transmission.
