The Honda factory in Greensburg, Indiana has switched production lines to make the 2019 Honda Insight hybrid. The special hybrid has been redesigned and revamped to look and drive better than its older models. It will be gracing showrooms by June squeezing a place between the Civic and the Accord in the Honda fleet.

Under its hood are a 1.5-liter inline 4 engine and dual motors that power its hybrid function. The combined power output is 151 hp. The most important thing in hybrids is the fuel economy. Honda claims, the Insight will offer 55 mpg. This might not be very great by hybrid standards but this fuel economy is something to work from.

“The new Honda Insight exemplifies our growing investment in the production of electrified vehicles in America and our associates in Indiana are proud to play a key role in this initiative,” said Isao Matsuzaki, president of Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, in a statement. “As the lead plant for Insight production globally, we are committed to delivering the quality and reliability that our customers expect.”

The 2019 Honda Insight hybrid will be available in 3 trims: LX, EX, and Touring. All three variants will come equipped with the new Honda Sensing driving assist technology, a 7.0-inch instrument panel, Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay.

The Insight is Honda’s fifth-ever electrified vehicle. The pricing details have not been released. This will happen by next month on its dealership release.
