Isdera is a German automobile brand unheard of by many. While their participation in the 2018 Beijing Auto Show with the Isdera Commendatore GT electric might come as a surprise to some, it is certainly not their first time making headlines. The brand has been functional since 1980 and has produced some 100 handcrafted vehicles.
One of their most famous cars was the 90’s Commendatore 112i. The sporty car had a Mercedes- Benz V12 for power taking it up to 213 miles per hour. However, time has changed and the automobile world is shifting toward the production of electric vehicles.
The German automaker has followed the new trend by showcasing the Isdera Commendatore GT electric at Auto China. Interestingly, they won’t be producing more than two examples of this. The new Commendatore is an all-wheel drive with one motor powering the front axle and another giving life to the rear axle. Collectively, both motors produce 800 hp that is good to take the 3,858-pound car from 0-62 mph in 3.7 seconds and achieve 124 mph in 9.8 seconds. The top speed is restricted at 155 mph. At a full charge, the 103 kWh battery lasts for 300 miles.
The gullwing doors open to show the serene cabin of the sports car. The color tones chosen for the interior nicely complement the exterior color scheme. The digital dashboard and the gear selector in the center console are unique.
We are not sure when the car will go into production.
