In 2017, Mercedes announced to produce the next generation GLS Maybach by 2019 and it seems the time has come for the unveiling at the 2018 Auto China Show in Beijing on April 25. The video hints at an SUV model, but other than that, only flashes of the Maybach emblems and design are visible.
At first glance, not much can be deduced about the SUV, but on deeper inspection, it gets clear that the model is, in fact, an SUV which is adorned with quilted leather, wood and aluminum highlights in the cabin. The mixture of these three creates a premium feel. The design elements apparently differ from the 2016 Vision Mercedes – Maybach 6 Concept, since the Maybach SUV adopts more of the traditional Mercedes-Benz design.
The concept Maybach SUV seems to have 4 seats with ample headroom for tall passengers, while the center console sits comfortably between the leather seats. The 30-second long video gives a glance at Mercedes’s new technology, the Comand infotainment system that sits on top of three additional small screens.
Further information on the vehicle shall be made available near the day of its launch.
