Volkswagen South Africa has finally launched the first seven-seat SUV dubbed Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace.

The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace will slot between compact Tiguan and the premium Touareg. Compared to the regular Tiguan, the Tiguan Allspace has an increased length of 215 mm and also boasts an enhanced cargo storage capacity of 115 liters.

It will be available in three trim levels; Trendline, Comfortline, and Highline. The ‘Trendline’ will be available with a 1.4 TSI engine developing 110 kW, the Comfortline will have a 2.0 TSI with 132 kW and a 2.0 TDI with 110kW.

The range-topping Highline model will be powered by a 2.0 TSI engine churning out 162 kW. This model will be equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, a silver colored front spoiler and roof rails, dynamic LED headlights and an impressive infotainment system. Other optional features available in the Highline trim include keyless access, App-connect and voice control, and a power tailgate.

With an addition of another SUV in the lineup, the automaker is surely expanding its customer base. The new Touareg luxury crossover is also expected to launch sometime next year, whereas the T-Cross small SUV will debut by the end of next year.
