The new 2019 Lexus ES is scheduled to debut this month at the 2018 Beijing Auto Show. However, a teaser image has been revealed by the automaker giving us a glimpse of the sedan’s front grille. The teaser image has come after a leaked image by an Arabic website Almuraba which can be seen below.
Seeing the image, the new Lexus ES appears to be sharper and more aesthetically designed compared to the current model.
Underpinning the 2019 Lexus ES will be a stretched version of Toyota’s TNGA modular platform, which is also present in the latest Toyota Camry. The use of new platform will improve the handling of the sedan.
Under the hood, the 2019 Lexus ES 350 is most likely to carry a 3.5-liter V-6 engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and developing 301 horsepower. A hybrid variant will be available as well most probably with a rear axle electric motor similar to what’s found in the Lexus UX crossover or the hybrid setup found in Camry hybrid.
Expect the 2019 ES to arrive at the dealerships in the United States later this year. However, we cannot confirm when it will arrive here in the Middle East.
More details will be uncovered when the Beijing Auto Show kicks off on April 25th.
