Genesis revealed its stunning new electric car concept called the Genesis Essentia at the 2018 New York International Auto Show. Although we know this concept might not head to production anytime soon, it gives us an idea regarding the company’s future production models.

The Genesis Essentia concept boasts a low-slung, light-weight beautifully sculpted carbon-fiber body with butterfly doors which open up with either facial recognition or through a fingerprint sensor. The official word suggests the Essentia Concept is powered by a multi-motor electric powertrain with batteries incorporated in an ‘I’ pattern fixed at the place of transmission and driveshaft instead of under the passenger seating. This battery placement ensures a low profile with overall height measuring just 50 inches. A sprint from standstill to 60 mph would take 3.0 seconds.

On the inside, the Genesis Essentia Concept includes a huge carved-glass interface which is of the same size as the front dash. The center console has four levers for gear shifting and climate control and a round dial for AUX support. The Cognac leather front seats and the Oxford blue velvet rear seats further uplift the whole premium feel of the Essentia concept.

The automaker is yet to announce any plans regarding the production model of the concept.
