The Rimac C_Two, the successor to the famous Rimac Concept One hypercar, has nearly been sold out. The sports car was released at the beginning of March at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show wearing a price tag of $2.1 million of which 150 units were planned to be sold.
The Croatian automaker is at the moment competing directly with Tesla Motors for the fastest all-electric hypercar. The Rimac C_Two came into existence to cement Rimac’s position in this race. The hypercar boasts 1,888 horsepower and 1,696 lb-ft of torque which takes the electric car from 0 to 60 in merely 1.85 seconds on to a top speed of 256 mph, which is exceptional by all standards, especially for a car that weighs 1,950 kilos.
The hypercar can travel 404 miles on a single charge of the 120 kWh battery, which is an impressive feat. The battery is fast-charge capable, allowing it to reach 80% capacity in half hour.
Surprisingly, despite the high price of the car, buyers on average have opted for about $615,300 of extra amenities, said Kreso Coric who is head of sales at Rimac. Accounting for these upgrades, an average Concept Two was sold for about $2.7 million. The 150 fully electric cars will start rolling out of factories by 2020.
As the supercar is nearly sold out, chances are we can only have one in the UAE market if an owner decides to part ways with their speed beast.
