Cadillac has unveiled a brand-new compact SUV called the XT-4 in an event at the Cadillac House in Manhattan on Wednesday. The 2019 Cadillac XT-4 SUV is the first of its kind built for small luxury vehicle lovers.

“The first-ever 2019 Cadillac XT4 expands our successful SUV lineup to a segment where Cadillac has never been before,” said Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen, speaking at the event. “And it sets off a dramatic expansion and elevation of the product range that will see a new Cadillac virtually once every six months through 2021.”

The 2019 Cadillac XT-4 has been made to target young customers, so even the design team responsible for it consists of youngsters. The body has decent lines that exude a sporty yet aggressive look, and rightly so, since the SUV comes in a Sport trim as well as Luxury and Premium Luxury trims. The Sport variant has a glossy black mesh grille, black window molds, and alloy rim options while the Luxury and Premium Luxury trims host a metallic grille. Standard on all models are LED headlights and taillights and LED daytime lights which are installed vertically to have a spike-like appearance. There are 8 exterior color choices including Red Horizon Twilight and Radiant Silver Metallic.

Inside is roomy, especially for rear-seat passengers who can enjoy long rides in comfort. The luxury aspect is evident from the leather coated steering wheel, massage feature, and more. Furthermore, there are various interior options for different trims. The dash hosts an advanced 8-inch screen with an infotainment system, 4G-LTE connectivity, surround view camera, wireless charging, 4 USB ports, navigation, and radio.

Powering the SUV is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine capable of creating 237 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque while being mated to a 9-speed automatic. The Active Fuel Management allows fuel efficiency of 30 mpg, according to Cadillac’s estimates.

The price starts at $35,790 in the US, however, it is not known yet when and at what price the 2019 Cadillac XT-4 will be available in the Middle East.
