Toyota is all set to reintroduce the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback to the US market at the New York Auto Show next week. The hatchback will replace the Corolla iM, currently available in the US market. The Japanese car manufacturer had been planning on releasing a redesigned Corolla in the US but went with the Hatch as a surprise.

The vehicle’s skeleton is based on Toyota’s TNGA platform which makes the vehicle more rigid against accidents. Inside the small hatchback, we see a beautiful interior which has been ameliorated and goes beyond Toyota’s standards. The 8.0-inch touchscreen comes with Apple Play functionality, six speakers, Siri Eyes Free, Wi-Fi and more. The advanced safety features include state-of-the-art Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 that includes pedestrian detection, pre-collision system, lane departure alert, and lane tracing assist.

Under the hood is a modest 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that is lightweight and more powerful than the 1.8-liter unit normally powers the Corolla. There are only two transmission options to choose from: a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic that comes with a paddle shifter. However, Toyota says the details will be finalized near the hatchback’s release date.

The 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback will arrive in showrooms after two months of its debut.
