The BMW iX3 electric SUV will be launched in 2020, confirmed BMW CEO two days ago while speaking to the media in Germany at the BMW Finance Conference. The SUV will be part of BMW’s commitment to a greener environment where the company will produce electric vehicles with low emissions. BMW plans to deliver 25 electrified vehicles by 2025.

The German automaker will be able to produce an electric version of its every model after 2020. The SUV model names will range from iX1 to iX9. As a teaser for the public, the prototype for the iX3 will be revealed in the Beijing Motor Show that will be held next month.

Talking about the i4 electric vehicle, the BMW CEO stated that it will be able to cover 435 miles in a single charge and all other models with ‘eDrive’ will be capable of going from 340 to 435 miles in one charge. It is still unsure if the BMW iX3 electric SUV will have the ‘eDrive’ or not.

Additionally, the CEO said the iNEXT concept will have a production model that will be built in Germany. BMW claims this concept vehicle will act as the ‘technology flagship’ for the brand, meaning it will be used to introduce new features which shall be found in premium models by BMW.
