The 2018 Hyundai Tucson Sport is getting a boost in engine power thanks to a completely new powerhouse that would separate the sports SUV from its Tucson siblings. The Tucson Sport will host a 2.4-liter four-cylinder unit expelling 181 horsepower and 175 lb-ft torque while being mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Tucson lovers will be able to choose from either a front wheel drive or all-wheel drive option.

The new engine makes the 2018 Hyundai Tucson Sport the most powerful of all the Tucson’s variants. However, there isn’t any big difference as the base model makes 164 hp and 151 lb-ft torque with its 2.0-liter engine, whereas the upgraded 1.6-liter turbocharged engine (optional) creates 175 hp and 195 lb-ft torque.

The Tucson Sport comes standard with 19-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, blind spot warning, fog lights, push-button start, leather accent on the steering and shift stick and dual-zone automatic temperature control.

The Sport Tucson has a starting price of $25,150 for the FWD version while the AWD is priced at $26,550. The Sport model sits in the middle of the SEL and SEL Plus variants. The company stated that the Sport model will hit the roads this year while a facelift will be released in 2019.
