The British luxury automaker has confirmed that the McLaren F1 successor, codenamed BP23, will be arriving soon and it will be the fastest road-car ever built by the company.
Talking at the Geneva Motor Show, the CEO Mike Flewitt, announced that McLaren F1 successor, which he called ‘BP23 Hyper GT’, will have a top speed of more than 243 mph and it will make its debut later this year.
The name BP23, which means “bespoke, project two, three seater”, suggests that it will be a three-seater hyper car with the driver seat positioned slightly forward and in the center. The same seating layout is also followed by the current McLaren F1.
Powering the McLaren BP23 Hyper GT will most likely be a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine and it will definitely offer a higher power output compared to the McLaren P1 which delivers 903 horsepower.
Only 106 examples of the McLaren F1 successor will be built worldwide and each example will be designed by McLaren Special Operations bespoke division according to the customer’s specifications. Sadly, all the 106 units have already been sold out with each example starting from £1.6 million.
The final name of the BP23 will be announced as the debut date gets close.
