The successor to the Ferrari’s V8 equipped special series – the 360 Challenge Stradale, 430 Scuderia, and 458 Speciale – is finally here and will be debuting next month at the Geneva Motor Show. Titled as Ferrari 488 Pista, the sports car is believed to offer phenomenal sporting dynamics and impressive technological upgrades.

In terms of weight, the Ferrari 488 Pista weighs 90 kg less compared to the 488 GTB, which improves its aerodynamics and consequently upgrades its performance. The automaker claims the 488 Pista carries the most powerful V8 twin-turbo engine in Ferrari’s history, which delivers 530 kW (720 cv) at 8000 rpm and 770 Nm of torque.

The new Ferrari 488 Pista also boasts motor-sport and performance-oriented equipment such as the front F1-inspired S-Duct, revised front diffusers, redesigned vortex generators and updated rear diffuser. All these features improve the downforce, thereby maximizing the airflow and increasing the Ferrari’s aerodynamic efficiency. The shape and placement of the rear-spoiler have been optimized as well.

The Ferrari 488 Pista also incorporates a new technology called the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer (FDE), which uses a computer program to adjust the brake pressure at the calipers.

More details will be unveiled when the Ferrari 488 Pista makes its debut on March 6th at the Geneva Motor Show.
