Nissan’s Crossover and SUV models are highly popular in the Middle East, especially the Nissan Patrol which is usually preferred for family driving as well as for off-roading. The increase in Nissan Patrol’s sales in the Middle East have helped to increase the company’s overall SUV sales worldwide by 79% pushing the number to almost 80,000 vehicles.

Thanks to the Nissan Kicks, the Rogue, the X-Trail, the Qashqai, the Armada and the Infiniti QX30 luxury crossover, the overall SUV and corssover sales of the brand increased more than 12% in the year 2017. In total, Nissan was able to sell almost 230,000 vehicles last year.

Talking about the Nissan Kicks, the small crossover performed really well in Mexico, Latin America and China markets improving the total sales to nearly 109,000 worldwide. It will launch in the U.S. and Canada this year and is expected to top the sales charts in these regions as well.

Regarding the increase in sales, Daniele Schillaci, executive vice president for Nissan stated that the improvement in SUV and Crossover sales have contributed greatly to the overall growth of Nissan in 2017. He further mentioned that the brand has high hopes of boosting the sales again in this year.
