The 2019 Subaru Ascent is set to grace showrooms by the summer of 2018, rivaling Volkswagen Atlas, Honda Pilot, and Hyundai Santa Fe, at a slightly higher price ($32,970) than all the competitors. Subaru released the teaser image of Ascent in November last year.
The basic trim of the SUV is adorned with a 6.5-inch multimedia display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality, climate control, 4 USB ports, and driving assist technology EyeSight, which includes automatic braking, warnings for lane change and swaying, as well as, adaptive cruise control.
The Premium variant offers a powered driver seat, waterproof upholstery, a leather steering, climate control for passengers at the back, heated seats at the front and an 8.0-inch infotainment system. Additions to the driving assist features include blind-spot detection, lane changing assist and rear-cross traffic warnings.
The Limited trim offers a leather interior, LED lights that follow the steering turns, rear liftgate, and more.
The top of the line variant is termed as Touring and includes Java Brown leather seats, heated leather steering wheel with hints of wood, GPS navigation, and a 14-speaker audio system among other luxury amenities.
Across all the versions will be a CVT auto transmission paired with a 2.4-liter turbo engine which makes 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. The basic model will have 8 seats while the top of the line model will only feature 7 seats, however, in between these models customers can choose between 7 and 8 seats.
The Ascent is not available in the UAE and we are not sure yet if Subaru would make it available in our region.
