The German automaker Audi has been working on the next generation 2019 Audi A1 lately and recent shots of the vehicle have been captured by the automotive paparazzi, showing the A1 gripping its wheels on a snow-covered pathway.
The Audi A1 made its way to the markets in 2010 but was never released in the USA. Reports suggest even this time around the US market will not have any luck, as the German automaker has no plans to offer the sub-compact hatchback in this part of the world.
The next generation has abandoned the rounded design of the outgoing model, making its shape and form imitate that of a traditional hatchback and the wheelbase has been elongated to provide a spacious cabin.
The vehicle seen in the spy-photos shows the A1 having 5-doors which are an ominous hint toward Audi’s decision to omit the 3-door variant, owing to a fall in demand.
The inside of the cabin will be intelligently tech-savvy, offering latest optional 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
The engine options include 3- and 4-cylinder machines, with the bigger engine being an S1. The transmission offerings will include either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual clutch.
There exists a possibility that a hybrid or an all=-electric version will be on offer, given the VW groups commitment toward producing 30 electric cars by the year 2025. The Audi A1, however, will be rolling into showrooms by winter 2018 or early 2019.
