Japanese auto giant Nissan and Shikoku Electric Power Co. have made an agreement to promote the use of electric vehicles. From February 1st onwards, all customers of the electric supply company, Shikoku Electric Power Co. will be able to benefit from the partnership.

The agreement states that all purchasers of Nissan Leaf (who are also customers of Shikoku residing in a designated area of western Japan) shall get special reward points that they can utilize later to pay their utility bills.

These points termed as “Yonden Points” could be applied to the monthly electricity bill. Customers can earn points a month for a maximum of three years.

Nissan and Shikoku aim to lessen the environmental effects of pollution caused by cars. In late 2017, Nissan released a brand-new model of the Nissan LEAF, a car that is entirely electric and has zero emissions. Plus, it offers powerful acceleration, agile handling and advanced driving technologies such as Nissan’s ProPILOT autonomous driving technology, which have become a norm for current high-end models.

The new, zero-emission Nissan LEAF incorporates Nissan Intelligent Mobility, the company’s vision for the future, which is based on how vehicles are powered, driven and integrated into society.
