Ares, the coachbuilder based in Modena, Italy has revealed their latest vehicle, the Project Panther, in an event held last week at the company’s headquarters. The Panther is built on Lamborghini Huracan skeleton and takes further inspiration from the De Tomaso Pantera, evident from its triangular nose, three-quarter grille on the rear and a flat engine cover. The retro-style pop-up headlights grace the front, which gives it a nice overall look thanks to the design by Mihai Panatescu, member of Ares’s Bespoke Creations division.
The specifications under the hood remain the same with a 5.2-liter V10 of the Huracan. The engine squeezes out an impressive 601 horsepower and 413lb-ft of torque, good for 0-60 mph sprint in 3.0 seconds and a top speed of 200 mph.
Ares provides singular or significantly low-volume customized cars for its affluent customers. The ex-Lotus CEO Dany Bahar in a statement said that more is upcoming by the Bespoke Creations division later this year. Well-placed sources claim that a Ferrari GTC4 Lusso will be redesigned to look like a modern-day Ferrari412. Another brilliant car by Ares’s Bespoke Creations is the Bentley Mulsanne coupe.
“This factory and Project Panther give a clear sign of our intent to design, engineer and produce the world’s most stunning bespoke and coachbuilt cars,” remarked Bahar. “Project Panther feels right now like our halo car but I can guarantee there is much more to come in 2018.”
Ares will start delivering the Project Panther to customers by the end of 2018.
