The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe will debut in March at the auspicious Geneva International Motor Show. On Tuesday Hyundai released pictures of the redesigned SUV. It was first caught testing in April last year.
The fourth generation Santa Fe will have sculpted, detailed flanks and aluminum bodywork. Hints of Kona shows up in the wheel arches as well as on the sportier headlights and taillights. A cascade front grille accentuates the modern design. More on the SUV will be known after the formal unveiling of the vehicle.
Hyundai has, however, said that the Santa Fe will feature the latest driving aids and electronics. There will also be a differentiating factor between the three-row SUV and two-row SUV after complaints by customers that the two trims could not be told apart.
The SUV will have the first ever Rear Occupant Alert system in the automotive industry. This technology will remind the driver of passenger(s) sitting in the rear seats when they are about to leave the vehicle. A rear cross traffic collision system is also installed to alert the driver while reversing.
The 2017 Santa Fe is powered by a 3.3-liter V-6 pumping out 290-hp and 252-lb-ft of torque. The redesigned Santa Fe might have the same V-6 but would receive a new eight-speed automatic transmission.
