The new 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 is about to arrive later this year and the spy photographers have caught a mule test driving on the streets.
The 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 can be seen with an updated front fascia featuring a new set of C-Shaped LED headlights. A large front grille can also be seen, however, the body was covered really well concealing most details. In general, the construction of the updated Sierra 1500 seems similar to the Silverado. A lightweight frame, an enlarged bed floor, and a power tailgate will also be added on the new Sierra.
Both the Sierra and the Silverado also share similar powertrains. The 2019 Sierra 1500 will be available with a 5.3-liter and a 6.2-liter small block engine with cylinder deactivation technology. Moreover, a 3.0-liter in-line six cylinder Duramax diesel unit will also be available. The 5.3-liter engine will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission while the 6.2-liter unit will be mated to a 10-speed transmission system.
There might not be extensive changes on the inside except upgraded upholstery and new trim options.
Expect the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 to make its official debut at the Chicago Auto Show in February or the New York Auto Show in March.
