Honda Africa and Middle East have recently announced the launch of the 2018 Odyssey J, a redesigned and refreshed MPV that will be available in the GCC countries. The facelifted 2018 Odyssey J is packed with advanced safety and luxury features that make this family vehicle standout among its rivals.
The facelifted model includes the newly designed front grille and front bumpers rendering the vehicle a unique look. Furthermore, to complement the sporty look, Honda used angular LED daytime lights and LED fog lights. The MPV is 4.83 meters in length, 1.80 meters in width, and 1.70 meters in height, meaning there is a lot of room for both passengers and cargo inside.
The EX grade offers space for 8 passengers while the EX-V variant can accommodate 7 passengers as well as abundant cargo. A high ceiling and spacious cabin allow ample headroom and legroom for a relaxed and comfortable experience. The front dash has a 7-inch touchscreen panel with Bluetooth interface, an audio system, a rear view camera support and so on.
Under the hood, the 2.4-liter 4 cylinder DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine creates 173hp at 6200rpm and 225NM of torque at 4000 rpm. The 2018 Odyssey J can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 11.9 seconds and has a top speed of 105 mph. The engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission.
The safety has been given high preference, as the automaker has used Honda Active-Safety Sense which includes features like Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Anti-Lock Brake Systems (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and Hill Start Assist (HSA). Additionally, the driver assistance features include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM), Blind Spot Information System, Rear Cross Traffic Monitor, Pedestrian Detection System and Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS).
It would be available in a wide variety of colors including Platinum White Pearl, Super Platinum Metallic and more. The Odyssey J will be priced between AED104,900 and AED132,900 in the UAE.
