The 2020 Toyota Corolla has been under development and was recently spied testing on the streets of Michigan for the very first time.

Unsurprisingly, the Corolla’s body was heavily covered, however, we were able to figure out some minor details. For instance, up front, there seems to be a hint of two-tiered fascia with a horizontal bar in the center. The hood looks to be extending all the way down to the front grille.

The 2020 Toyota Corolla will ride on the company’s new Global Architecture (TNGA) platform, which currently underpins the Toyota Prius, the Camry and the C-HR. The overall size of the sedan might not change, which means the interior space will be same as the current model.

However, the interior will definitely receive some new upgrades such as a larger infotainment display, improved controls, and some revised driver assistance features.

Powering the 2020 Toyota Corolla will most probably be the same 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine found in the current model. A new CVT transmission might be added for better gear ratio.

Al-Futtaim Motors, the official distributor of Toyota vehicles in the UAE, has not mentioned anything regarding the 2020 model yet but we can expect some details in the coming months.
