With artificial intelligence taking over the world in all aspects of life, China isn’t behind when it comes to introducing new electric cars. A Chinese startup Byton is a new player in the game aiming to re-explore car mobility and connectivity. Byton has teased images which show its first electric-car branded as the SIV, ‘Smart Intuitive Vehicle’. Released this Tuesday, the teasers have certainly put the onlookers to the edge of their seats – waiting for the final reveal at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
The CES has progressed to become the main, most effective and awaited platform, which displays technological advances by various companies and startups.
Reports reveal that the SIV will be featuring a 150kW motor in the front and a 200kW motor at the rear to collectively create 469 horsepower. On the inside, it will have a curved 49-inch touchscreen spread across the cabin viewable by all passengers. The smart experience of the Byton SIV would include Intuitive Access using facial recognition for unlocking as well as access to a cloud platform. Additionally, the driver will be able to control the vehicle using hand gestures through Air Touch sensors.
The electric car will house a 71-kWh battery pack that is intended to serve the entry-level model, in addition to an optional 95-kWh battery pack. The former would deliver 200 miles of range, while the bigger battery would enable the car to cover 310 miles.
Byton seems to be really promising in its advanced features. The President and Co-founder Daniel Kirchert mentioned during a media introduction held at the Byton Headquarters in Santa Clara that we are “more inspired by Apple than by Tesla“.
Having spent 18 months working on its product line in silence and with a competitive advantage of Chinese investors, Byton is all set to come out this year and step forward in the demanding and growing industry of EVs.
Byton will confidently present their SUV at the 2018 CES on January 7. Stay tuned to know how smooth their smart-drive would be!
