For those who don’t know Saleen Automotive is an America based high-performance sports car manufacturer. The automaker has recently introduced a new Saleen S1 sports car at the Los Angeles Motor Show and it supposedly delivers 450 bhp.
The Saleen S1 is a light-weight sports car with a mid-engine design and a seating capacity of two passengers. The body of the sports car is built from aluminum and carbon fiber to keep the overall weight low and improve the aerodynamics.
Powering the Saleen S1 Sports car is a turbocharged 2.5-liter Saleen-designed four-cylinder engine that has an output of 450 horsepower. This engine will allow the Saleen S1 to sprint from zero to 97 km/h (0 to 60 mph) in just 3.5 seconds, while the top speed is limited to 290 km/h.
The Saleen S1 Sports car will be priced approximately US$100,000 and the automaker has started accepting deposits for the car.
It will be built by Jiangsu Saleen Automotive Technology Group, a joint-venture formed by Saleen and its Chinese partners. Initially, the production will take place in the US. The vehicle displayed at the show is not the final product but officials have revealed that the final design will not be much different than the displayed model.
