Tesla recently introduced the new roadster which is dubbed as the fastest accelerating production car, however, there is another company which is regarded a pioneer of electric supercars and it is cooking up a Rimac EV supercar which will compete against the Tesla Roadster.
Other than that the company is already working on the Rimac Concept One, which will be powered by four electric motors and the total power output will be about 1,224 horsepower and 1,180 lb.-ft of torque. The top speed is expected to be around 220 mph, while the 60 mph mark will be hit in just 2.5 seconds. The 92 kWh battery pack will offer a range of up to 200 miles.
Now, our sources tell that the next-generation Rimac EV supercar will be more powerful than the Rimac Concept One. The Rimac’s distributor for the Americas, Auto Iconica, recently stated that the supercar has been in the pipeline for quite some time now and will launch soon.
Rimac is also going to increase its US portfolio next year and add five retailers in the region. The unnamed Rimac electric hypercar is expected to debut sometime in 2018.
