The new all-electric Renault ZOE Long Range model has arrived in the Middle East with 300 Kilometers range. Having the distinction of the first Electric Vehicle of the ME region, the new ZOE now comes with double power, thanks to a 41kWh battery unit. Dubbed as Z.E. 40 battery, the unit has the longest driving range accessible in any current mass-market EV.

Those who are not well aware of ZOE must know that this is a 5-door compact city car with a sporty design. The whole structure speaks of its zero-emission characteristics; from electric badge to Z.E. signature headlamps with daytime running lights and rear lights, all boast ingenious blue styling prompts.

On the inside, it is roomy with comfortable seats. The center console features a stylish touch-screen to manage a number of in-car features consisting of climate control, multi-media music, and entertainment and driving performance statistics.

The charging slot is located under the Renault badge on the ZOE’s bonnet. Just plug the cables in a power source for charging. The new Renault ZOE Long Range biggest achievement is the Z.E. 40 battery, which has been created in association with LG Chem employing innovative high-energy density lithium-ion technology. The new tech has enabled the manufacturers to keep the same size as previous and increase the storage capacity. Moreover, they employed a new air circulation system and an electronic management system to keep the battery’s temperate steady for a more efficient drive, even in extreme temperatures.

Though engineers did their best to extend the batter’s range, they couldn’t improve the charging times. A 30-minute charge would give 80 kilometers of range. That being said, the new charging infrastructure in Dubai would be advantageous for motorists as the Supreme Energy Council has permitted new electric vehicle buyers to charge their vehicles for free at Dewa-approved stations until 2019, get free selected green parking in Dubai, apply for free electric vehicle registration and renewal, in addition to not paying Salik’s tag fee and get a license plate sticker recognizing the vehicle as an electric car. If you want to install a charging terminal at your home, that too is possible.

Marwan Haidamous, Managing Director for Renault Middle East, said; “As pioneers in electric mobility in the Middle East and the market leader for electric vehicles in Europe, we intend to continue to lead the way in developing electric vehicle solutions in the region.

“The introduction of the new Renault ZOE long range is an important step forward for electric mobility in the Middle East. Many drivers’ main fear around electric motoring is running out of battery power. Now we can offer our customers our longest driving range yet – 300 kilometers.  The ZOE is the perfect blend of practicality, affordability and most importantly, the freedom to drive without the worry of running out of power. This new model cements our position as true pioneers of electric mobility, not only here in the Middle East, but across the world.”

In the UAE, it is available in 2 grades namely Life and Intens. For the price, get in touch with the dealership.

As the world is embracing the electric vehicles, Renault too has planned to introduce eight new pure-electric vehicles and 12 latest electrified models by 2022. They named their project ‘Drive the Future’ and are eyeing to get the first spot in the electric vehicle manufacturing industry.
