RTA Sharjah has ordered to temporarily close its busiest highway partially from 3am to 9am on November 3 and November 10. The decision is made to add the much-needed pedestrian footbridge nearby Ansar Mall, which links Sharjah’s Al Nahda zone with Al Mamzar across Al Ittihad Road.
Al Ittihad Road, which links Dubai to Sharjah, has been criticized for causing various pedestrian deaths. By adding a pedestrian bridge, the authorities would make sure the passage is safe for pedestrians. A lady died here last year in November.
The authorities also closed the road 3 days back and are informing people to use alternate routes, which can be seen in the map below:
