In a move to bring happiness to motorists, RAK police has announced 55% discount on all traffic fines. Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of the RAK Police told that it will be effective for only two weeks starting from Nov 1 and ending on Nov 15.
“The move is meant to mark the 7th anniversary of the ascension day of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.”
This 55% discount is the biggest in Ras Al Khaimah. “The two-week discount, including all types of road violations, will take effect from November 1 to 15.”
“The Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, adopting an ambitious vision, has launched numerous development initiatives and projects to enhance the quality and standards of living in the emirate and ensure safety, security, and stability everywhere here. The move will reduce financial burdens on all members of the society.”
In the first nine months, the radars in RAK detected and fined 219,746 speeding motorists.
“The drivers nabbed proved to have exceeded the set speed limit posing road users’ life and theirs at the stake,” according to Ma-Gen Al Nuaimi.
The speeding radars are fixed to catch speeding motorists and increase road safety in RAK, he said. “These fixed and portable radars also help reduce traffic accidents and their casualties.”
RAK Police is not the only one offering discounts, Dubai and Sharjah police are also doing the same.
