To celebrate the Public Transport Day in Dubai, RTA has announced frequent traveler prizes together with different fitness activities. Starting from Monday 23rd Oct 2017, two most frequent travelers of Dubai Metro will receive Dh50,000 each.
Additionally, commuters of the metro, tram, public buses, and marine transport would also receive bumper prizes. To commemorate the Public Transport Day on November 1, RTA has arranged many fitness activities attuned with the Dubai Fitness Challenge initiative launched by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council.
The Dubai Fitness Challenge persuade residents to take part in their preferred sports for 30 minutes a day from 20 October to 18 November 2017.
Moaza Al Merri, Director of RTA’s Marketing and Corporate Communication said the 2017 Public Transport Day celebration comprises of three categories: frequent travelers, public transport races, and Gold Runner competition.
“The first category involves riding public transport using nol Card from October 23 to November 1. The two most frequent public transport users who collect the maximum number of points would be named as winners, and each would receive a cash prize of Dh50,000,” said Al Merri.
In the second phase, which will start from November 1, different teams of travelers will race various metro, tram, public bus, and marine transport stations and do different exercises upon reaching every station.
“The winner will be the team that collects the largest number of seals stamped on the participation application at each station and succeeds in reaching the final station,” said Al Merri.
The winning team would be happy to welcome a cash prize of Dh50,000, the second best will receive Dh30,000, and the second runner-up will have Dh15,000.
The Golden Runner is actually a social media competition starting from October 23 to November 1. Members have to check the social networking sites to find the Golden Runner who regularly visits three RTA stations. The winners will be given wearable prizes such as Fitbits, Apple watches and iPhone 8.
